Adding Items to Your Wishlist

Add any gift from any online store or manually type your ideas.

Click "+ Add Item" on Your Wishlist

Navigate to the "My Wishlists" tab on your Dashboard and tap the "+ Add Item" button.

Paste Any Retailer Product URL

Paste a link from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Etsy, Nike, Best Buy, or any other website. GiftListNow will organize the title, photo, and details to add directly to your list!

Pro Tip: You can also type items manually without a link (e.g. "Warm fuzzy socks" or "Gift card for coffee").

Select Recipient & Add Custom Notes

Choose who the item is for ("Myself" or another family member/child) and specify preferred sizes, colors, or options in the notes field.

Save to Your Wishlist

Tap "Save Item". Your item is now safely stored in your universal wishlist.

Open "Members & Details" on Your Event

As an event Admin/Organizer, click "Members" on your Secret Santa event card.

Click "Edit Exclusions" for Any Participant

Find the member (for example, "Sarah") and tap "Edit Exclusions".

Check the Excluded People

Check the boxes next to whoever Sarah should NOT be allowed to draw (e.g., her spouse "David").

Save Exclusions

Repeat for any other couples or siblings. Our algorithm guarantees zero conflicts during the name draw!

Browse Other Members' Wishlists

In your group or on a shared list, tap on any person to view the gifts they have shared.

Click "Claim / Buying This"

When you decide to purchase an item, tap the "Claim" button. The item is now marked as claimed.

Prevent Duplicate Purchases

All other members in the group and visitors to the list will clearly see the gift is already claimed, guaranteeing no one buys the exact same item.

The Recipient NEVER Knows!

Anti Spoiler Guarantee: The person receiving the gift will NEVER see that the item was claimed. From their dashboard, their list appears untouched until the gift is opened!

Put Back / Unclaim If You Change Your Mind

If you change your mind or can't find the item in stock, simply tap "↩ Put Back (Unclaim)". Whether on a public shared list or inside an event group, the item immediately becomes available again for others to claim.

When you click "Claim & View" on an item, the status updates to Claimed for all other group members to prevent duplicate gifts. The recipient's view remains unmarked, preserving the surprise!

Can I put back or unclaim a gift if I change my mind?

Yes! Whether on a public shared list or inside an event group, you can tap "↩ Put Back (Unclaim)" to release the item so another family member or friend can claim it.

Where do event notification emails come from?

Automated emails (like Secret Santa matches and event invites) come from "donotreply@giftlistnow.com". If you don't see an email, check your Spam or Promotions folder and add this address to your contacts.
