• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. Account authentication and login security are handled through our infrastructure partner, Supabase. We never see or store your raw account passwords.
• Wishlist and Gift Data: When you add items, we store the product title, merchant web link, notes, and preferences you provide. Your personal wishlists remain private to you until you choose to share them in an event or send a direct list link.
• Event and Exchange Participation: When you create or join an event, such as a Secret Santa or White Elephant game, we store group memberships, gift claims, and exchange settings.
• Optional Profile Details: You may choose to provide clothing sizes, shoe sizes, or favorite styles to help friends pick the right gifts. Adding these details is entirely optional.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect sensitive payment data, credit card numbers, bank account details, or government identification numbers. Any purchases you make occur directly on external merchant websites.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve GiftListNow, including:

• Allowing you to create, view, and manage your universal wishlists across multiple devices.
• Coordinating Secret Santa draws, pair exclusions, and White Elephant turns.
• Enabling secret gift claims so friends avoid buying duplicate gifts while keeping the recipient surprised.
• Sending essential transactional emails, such as Secret Santa match notifications and event invitations, through our email delivery provider, Resend.

5. Affiliate Links and Retailer Cookies

GiftListNow contains outbound links to retail merchants. When you click on an external link to browse or purchase a product, the merchant may place a temporary tracking cookie on your device to attribute the referral.

These retailer cookies are governed by the respective retailer's privacy policy. When you purchase gifts through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions allow us to keep the service free for everyone without charging subscriptions.

6. Third Party Service Providers

We partner with trusted service providers to help run our application securely:

• Supabase: Provides database hosting and authentication security.
• Vercel: Provides web hosting and cloud content delivery.
• Resend: Delivers transactional event emails, including Secret Santa match announcements.

These partners are bound by confidentiality agreements and are only permitted to process your information as needed to provide their services.

7. We Never Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information or gift wishlists to data brokers or third party marketers. Your information is used exclusively to deliver the GiftListNow platform.

8. Your Choices and Account Deletion

You retain full control over your personal information at all times:

• Edit Your Information: You can update your display name, avatar, sizes, and wishlist items whenever you wish in your Account Settings.
• Permanent Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. Inside your Account Settings under the Danger Zone section, you can permanently delete your account, lists, and claims with one click.
• Assisted Deletion: You may also email support@giftlistnow.com at any time to request the full deletion of your account and records.

9. Children's Privacy

GiftListNow is not intended for use by unsupervised children under the age of 13. Parents or legal guardians may organize wishlists on behalf of their children, but we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our platform or legal requirements. When updates are published, the revised date at the top of this page will be updated.
